The Quarantine Chronicles by Shaun Blanch was released Tuesday 7/14/20. The Quarantine Chronicles is a self-produced album by Shaun which was created in a bedroom studio, over a 3-month period during NYC quarantine. You’re likely asking yourself “who the heck is Shaun Blanch and why should I care?” Shaun is an independent artist and multi-instrumentalist who specializes in guitar, drums, singing, and songwriting. This is his first (debut) album, and all of the songs were created fit into a “quarantine vibe.” The music was all performed (in other words not programmed), recorded, edited, mixed, and mastered by Shaun.
In 2015 Shaun was granted an opportunity to travel to Ireland to study drumming and percussion, as part of 21 drums, under the guidance of professional instructors who have played for the likes of David Bowie, Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar, and other notable artists. Since then Shaun has worked to improve his craft, not only in drumming, but in all facets of music and music production.
Shaun has been performing live in NYC since 2014, starting with busking in the subway, or out on the street – and participating in open mics across the city whenever possible. Shaun has played at “The Bitter End” open mic numerous times in order to share his music and sharpen his ability to perform live. Additionally, Shaun has played live across multiple continents including North America, Europe, and Asia.
The music in The Quarantine Chronicles can best be described as an amalgamation of alternative, indie rock, pop, swing, folk, hip hop, and acoustic singer-songwriter mashed together. Shaun is influenced by a wide range of artists and genres and finds influence and inspiration from many different types of music.
The Quarantine Chronicles is available on all major streaming and download platforms such as Spotify, Bandcamp, iTunes, Apple Music, Tidal, Napster, Pandora, etc. Shaun Blanch is on radio rotation with the track “Marie”.
