Drop Electric is an experimental rock band based in Washington D.C. and NYC. Based in melody and distortion and deeply inspired by cinema, their live show is a combination of evocative music, unique vocals and narrative film.
In December 2010, they released their debut album, “Finding Color in the Ashes” at theBlack Cat Mainstage in Washington, D.C. The album has been reviewed and or featured in The Washington Post, Mixtape Muse, Musigh, and a number of other fine publications.
In July 2012, Drop Electric signed with Pusher Music, a trailer house based in LA, joining a roster of artists that include Orbital, DJ Shadow and Crystal Method. The band are also headlining DCs Capitol Groove Fest this July and headlining the Black Cat on August 3 for DCs STPP Fest. They were chosen to play the 9:30 Club in November 2011 in honor of DC Week 2011. Drop Electric are currently promoting their new EP “Drop Electric Sampler Platter” and their stunning new music video for “Empire Trashed”.
