Montreal-based singer, songwriter, and producer Camille Brown has launched an exciting new project, Malade. This gloss-pop venture skillfully blends R&B grooves with creative pop elements in a playful and maximalist style.

After making her mark in the Vancouver music scene, Malade released her debut EP, “Blindfolder,” in 2020. The EP was recorded at Monarch Studios with the collaboration of artist/producer Sam Tudor and the late engineer Olivia Quan. Drawing inspiration from a diverse range of influences, including early ’90s Francophone balladeers like Lara Fabian and British electronic artists such as James Blake and Tirzah, Malade’s music showcases a unique fusion of styles.

The recording features contributions from musicians with both jazz and classical backgrounds, including Mar Emanuel, Jennifer Charters, and Wallgrin. This diverse musical input adds depth and complexity to Malade’s dynamic pop sound.

“There’s a wide range of emotional transparency in these songs,” Malade shares. “Some moments are unabashedly huge, others are like quiet promises. They’re the most candid, dry performances I’ve ever dared to record.”

Malade’s latest single, “kind of love,” is currently on rotation on Jamsphere Radio. This glossy pop track exudes girly summer vibes and boasts sophisticated production, cementing Malade’s place in the contemporary music scene.
