De’Cora Smith, known as DC, is a singer, songwriter, and DJ from Montgomery, Alabama. Inspired by the R&B greats of the 90s such as Charlie Wilson, Jamie Foxx, Freddy Jackson, Jodeci, Boys 2 Men, and New Edition, DC’s love for music began in the church where he sang and wrote songs. He started recording at SNA Entertainment Studio with his brothers, including Glen (aka Big G Ent), and quickly gained recognition for his talent as a writer.
At 16, DC interned with his brother Micheal Relf at HRT Music, where he learned DJing. He took his skills to the next level, hosting celebrity events. Despite becoming a dedicated father at 17, DC always prioritized family. His children’s births redirected his focus towards the professional world. Later, he had twins, expanding his blended family.
DC’s brother Milford Brown, a Houston Texans player, influenced his decision to move to Lake Jackson, Texas. There, he established Alagata Studios, his own music label, and opened FLAW-C, a renowned hip-hop and R&B dance club in Freeport. DC’s music is deeply personal, and he has finally decided to share it with the world. His latest release, “Conversations: Let’s Make it Right” featuring Briana Kivi and C4Play, is his first publicly available work. But he has an extensive catalog of soulful and captivating music waiting to be released, including irresistible dance hits, soul-stirring love ballads, and timeless classics.
DC’s talents extend beyond music. He is also an actor, entrepreneur, and philanthropist. Now residing in California, he aims to collaborate with both new and established artists to become a household name and establish his brand in the music and corporate world. With his unique blend of soulful and southern influences fused with modern and 90s R&B, DC is ready to make his mark and captivate audiences worldwide.
