Hidden Jungles is the brainchild of Chris Haywood, a 24-year-old Black, Hawaiian & Filipino Kansas City-based artist. The name based on a mural he painted on his bedroom walls when he was a child, is an unfolding story of a messy breakup, killed dreams after attending a world-renowned art institute for a year and thriving in the jungle called life.

The songwriter wears his heart on his sleeve and loves to tell stories of love, hate, bad breakups, and the challenge of figuring out your place in life. His original songs are charged by synth beats drawn from his background as a drummer. He also plays the ukulele and most percussion instruments.

“Here And Now” is his second song released from Hidden Jungles. His first song, “Away We Go,” is a lush layer of electronics underneath his search for belonging and remembering love.

Chris comes from a long line of musicians. His uncle, Earl Brown, is in the Blues Hall of Fame as a sax player who toured with Ray Charles and Bebe King. His cousins, David, and Michael Brown, are professional entertainers at the Harrahs Casino in Las Vegas. They also play the sax with Motown covers.

Hidden Jungles is on radio rotation with the tracks “Here and Now” and “Away We Go”.
