Kemal Amersingh, Popularly known as SHAWTCUT is a Jamaican Reggae Musician who was born in Balaclava, St. Elizabeth, Jamaica W.I. At the age of 8 he discovered his passion for music and followed in his Father and Uncle’s footsteps. In 2004 Shawtcut recorded his first single which was never released, he then went to study Producing and Technical Engineering.
In 2015 he wrote and recorded the single Good Morning Jamaica and performed it with his band TenNshan Invasion, as lead vocalist. As front man for Tennshan Invasion, SHAWTCUT has performed on the Jamaica Jazz and Blues Festival Stage, Third World and Friends, Opening Act for Jimmy Cliff, Benji Myers, Kymani Marley.
SHAWTCUT is known for providing a variety of reggae flavors such as roots rock reggae, lovers rock, pop reggae, reggae fusion, and also his lyrical content, stage presence and command. His musical themes revolve around Positivity, Love and Romance, Anti-war and resilience. SHAWTCUT is on radio rotation with the track “Wake Up and Live”.
