Alec Suthy is a queer artist living in NYC. A storyteller since a young age, Alec has self-taught and worked across mediums, most notably with photography since 2010. His style is influenced by silver screen cinematics, surrealist art, balletic movement, and capturing quiet candor. Drawing from a diverse array of visual sources, his work seeks to create spaces for outsiders through documentation of the queer experience. He earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration and Management from Northeastern University in 2019.

As a photographer, he has helmed Sutherland Pictures, Inc. since 2010 and his work has been published by Seventeen Magazine, The Avenue, Spoon University, and in pop-up galleries with Nowigo. He has been commissioned to create for Drunk Elephant, Northeastern University, Puritan and Co., Gravel Travel, World of Wonder, Myro, Skin Sciences, and many others!

As a model, Alec has appeared in Feroce Magazine and Boston Fashion Week.

As a poet, his work has been published in the Gateway Review, the Aperion Review, Rigorous Literary Magazine, Fearsome Critters Lit Mag, and in Z Publishing Houses’ Best Emerging Poet Series in 2017, 2018, and 2019. He has spoken about the power of LGTBQ+ storytelling in activism on panels for WeWork, Out for Undergrad, Ernst and Young, PTC, and the Boston Consulting Group.

As a musician and performer, he has performed at Boston Pride 2019, and at venues across New England, like Machine, Club Cafe, Jacques, House of Yes, and the legendary Club Cumming. His music is available on all streaming services starting June 12th!
