In 2015, Hayley Lynch and Leo Bennato had a fateful meeting in Austin, TX that would forever change the course of their musical careers. What started as a casual conversation between two bandmates soon evolved into the formation of Kikimora, a six-piece ensemble that defies genre conventions and pushes the boundaries of modern music. With roots in both Argentina and El Paso, TX, Kikimora draws inspiration from a diverse range of musical traditions and influences. Their sound has been compared to that of Hiatus Kaiyote, Robert Glasper, and Charlotte Day Wilson, but ultimately, it defies easy categorization.

At the heart of Kikimora’s sound is the dynamic interplay between lead vocalist and guitarist Hayley Lynch, keyboardist Leo Bennato, and lead guitarist Ed Ramos. Jericho Cagle on bass, Albert Braun on drums, and Eric Boseman on percussion provide the powerful and groovy rhythm section that drives their music forward.

Kikimora’s unique blend of sultry vocals, clever lyrics, and improvisational instincts have won over fans across the country. Before the pandemic hit, they embarked on an East Coast Summer Tour, playing at venues such as Nashville’s Back Corner, Philadelphia’s Kung Fu Necktie, Brooklyn’s Bowery, and Chicago’s Emporium. At each stop, they left audiences mesmerized and eager for more.

Now, as they prepare to release their upcoming single, “Chase the Wind,” followed by a full-length LP, Kikimora is poised to take the music world by storm. Their playful and mischievous spirit, reflected in their namesake, is sure to captivate listeners and leave them wanting more. Keep an eye out for this genre-defying band born from a chance encounter in 2015 – they are sure to be making waves for years to come. Kikimora are on radio rotation with the single “Chase The Wind”.
