At the age of 13, New York rapper DTB Chris burst onto the scene in late 2019 with “Catch an Opp”, featuring Bugszy Citglo. Since then, his tracks have been streamed over a hundred thousand times online, establishing him as one of the hottest up-and-coming artists in the city.
Born on June 9, 2006 and raised in Long Island, New York, DTB Chris (DTB meaning Down To Business) fell in love with Hip Hop at the age of 7. Inspired by the likes of Nas, Lil Wayne, JayZ, and more recently XXXTentacion and Ski Mask The Slump God, he started writing lyrics in the summer of 2019.
After a few months of preparation, he dropped back-to-back singles in October: the above-mentioned “Catch an Opp” and “The Spot” featuring Kenzoe. These tracks put his versatility on full display, proving that he could switch easily between hard-hitting verses and melodic trap anthems. DTB Chris returned a month later with two more singles, “The Challenger” and “Masterminds” featuring RockGang Dah, before closing out 2019 with the hit track “Yo Bro!”, featuring Kenzoe.
On March 10th, 2020, DTB Chris dropped “Not Lucky”, the lead single from his upcoming debut album “Beginning of a Legend”. Accompanied by a music video on WorldStar Hip Hop, the song racked up more than 45,000 views in its first week.
“Beginning of a Legend” is expected to be released in late March 2020. As the title suggests, this is only the beginning for DTB Chris – he’s here to stay, and will continue to grow and develop as an artist.
DTB Chris is on radio rotation with the tracks “Story” and “Moving Low”
