Hailing from London, elusive producer ETDub is no stranger to a feel-good production cut. Armed with a truly authentic take on high tempo trap-influenced house production, the rising beatmaker now moves into the spotlight with his first single of the year ‘Something Wrong’. With a growing catalogue of nostalgia-packed productions, ETDub’s borderless and adventurous mentality is reflected in his discography, as he effortlessly floats between genres.

Inspired by the likes of DJ Rashad, DJ Shadow and Cookie Kawaii and praising them for their prioritisation of melody and catchy production cuts, ETDub has spent years quietly perfecting his craft and experimenting with genres from trap, grime and r’n’b to rock and heavy metal. Honing a sound that differs to anything else in the London music scene right now, a transformative potion of skippy drum patterns and nostalgic samples prickles the ear of many as he introduces a genre he likes to call ‘UK juke’.

As he channels his sonic education of the footwork/juke scene of Chicago as well as the rhythms of New Jersey club, ETDub has crafted a style of music that follows many urban influences of the UK’s past and present, and with it some unheard American formats – all whilst matching the energy of a local underground drum & bass rave.

By choosing the perfect musical elements and seamlessly integrating them, ETDub’s latest offering lends itself to an introspective listening experience that is helplessly intoxicating yet could just as easily turn up the heat in a club setting. Now embarking on the next stage of his career and continuing to forge his way, he goes forth with true authenticity and a hunger to create unique works at every junction.
Speaking of his latest release, ETDub said: “It’s mainly a demonstration of sample chopping that tells a narrative of being torn in regards to a relationship.”
