Having played guitar since the age of 12, Shawn Nova took years of integrating different styles of music to find his own sound. From Montreal, Shawn moved to Richmond Hill in 2005 and found solace in the times he spent with his local musician friends. Since then, Shawn Nova’s style has evolved from classic rock, to metal, to alternative rock and is constantly changing with every new day.

Following his debut mixtape last year, entitled “Whip Sessions”, Nova has now released his sophomore album “Hour Glass”. With eleven tracks deep and seven different producers, plus a remix of “MC’s Act Like They Don’t Know” by DJ Premiere, “Hour Glass” is a clear and ambitious attempt to reach audiences outside of the emcee’s core area. And the attempt sounds pretty successful, as N0va more than holds his own among most other high-octane spitters doing the rounds today.

Nova more is on radio rotation with the tracks “Mental Lapse” – Produced by ERIC D and “I’m Over It” – Produced by Q-Cut.
