Highest Intention is a vintage Roots Reggae Revival band from California. Their sound is locally grounded and globally appealing conveying a message of love and unity with a clean and fundamentally modern Roots Reggae sound. The band consists of founding member Ben Lowe (Vocals/guitars), Toho Saunders (Bass), John Raka (Drums). Highest Intention combines unique and thoughtful songwriting with heavy one-drop beats, deep intoxicating bass lines, and vintage dub style effects. The first track, ‘IRIE’, features Karim Israel (Arise Roots), along with Paul Wolstencroft (Slightly Stoopid) on keys.
Their highly anticipated album ‘Universal Light’ honors the tradition of Jamaican Roots music while forging its own brand of progressive Reggae for the new millennium. Highest Intention is on radio rotation with the track ‘Fat One’. Highest Intention is booking 2023 in support of the new release.
